I spent years looking for a place that could help me bring what I was learning into everyday life.
I found incredible teachers.
I attended remarkable conferences.
I read the books.
I filled notebooks with ideas.
I left inspired.
Then Tuesday arrived.
The difficult conversation.
The stressful meeting.
The misunderstanding.
And I found myself asking...
How do I actually live this?
I wasn't looking for more inspiration.
I was looking for somewhere to practice.
I couldn't find that place.
So I started building it.
Today...
...that place is Brilliance Leadership Academy.
What I discovered surprised me.
I didn't discover this sitting quietly with a journal.
I discovered it in the middle of real life.
Trying to help a frustrated customer.
Walking into another difficult conversation.
Leaving work wishing I had handled something differently.
Wondering why I kept getting the same results even when I wanted something different.
That's when I began noticing something.
Sometimes the biggest thing shaping my day wasn't what happened.
It was the meaning I gave to what happened.
And once I could see that...
...I wasn't stuck with only one response anymore.
I couldn't keep this to myself.
The more I began seeing these moments in my own life...
The more I started seeing them everywhere.
A coworker replaying a difficult conversation.
A leader wondering why their team wasn't responding.
Someone carrying a story that wasn't helping them anymore.
A parent trying to connect with their child.
Different people.
Different situations.
The same human experience.
I realized I wasn't the only one looking for a way to bring what I was learning into everyday life.
And I knew I couldn't be the only one who needed a place to practice it.
That's when Brilliance Leadership Academy stopped becoming an idea.
And started becoming a responsibility.
Meet Kevin
I'm not the first person to teach leadership.
Or communication.
Or personal growth.
I've simply spent years asking one question.
How do we bring what we're learning into everyday life?
I started trying it.
Hospitals...
Pharmacies...
Organizations...
Classrooms...
And thousands of conversations with people trying to lead, communicate, and live with greater intention.
Along the way...
I discovered something I now believe with all my heart.
People rarely struggle because they don't care.
They struggle because they can't always see what's shaping the moment they're standing in.
I don't think I'll ever outgrow being a student.
People still surprise me.
Conversations still surprise me.
Sometimes I leave a meeting wishing I had asked one more question.
Sometimes I realize I completely misunderstood what someone was carrying.
That's why this Academy continues growing.
I'm still learning too.
The Work Continues
I'm still building this place.
Every conversation teaches me something.
Every workshop reveals something new.
Every person helps me see another part of what it means to bring what we're learning into everyday life.
Somewhere along the way...
I realized I wasn't just collecting ideas anymore.
I was beginning to see the same patterns...
the same questions...
and the same discoveries...
showing up again and again.
Eventually I gave that way of thinking a name.
